Our plane almost went down over the Sahara as we flew from Ghana to London. Just after the flight attendants had went through the cabin serving tea and coffee the aircraft experienced massive turbulence somewhere over Mali. Jolting up and down and from side to side we gripped our arm rests and held our breath. People all around us were gasping and spilling tea, throwing up into bags. Out of the hundreds of flights I had been on this was by far the most extreme turbulence. Outside looked like a sandstorm, the clouds rustic tinted from the massive desert below. How blessed am I that I get to see my lover every day? To feel and taste and embrace her, to gaze upon her as if it’s the first time I’ve ever seen her, to be captivated by her as if she’s still to this day the most beautiful thing I have ever laid eyes on.
I had spent New Year’s Eve in New York City and had just gotten back to my apartment in Ocean City. I woke up early on the second day of 2014 and spent the morning with the mist shrouded ocean. Forever the water moved; not for one moment since creation had it been still. Standing there as I stood countless times, I thanked my lover for making me feel humble, inspired, tiny and salty all at once. No matter what, I always wanted to be around her or close to her. After a summer of sitting dormant, collecting dust and low web traffic numbers, I’m reviving my blog! Yes, it’s been far too long and my busyness can no longer be an excuse for not updating. The last few months have been extraordinarily crazy, from two cross country road-trips, an unforgettable adventure in Africa, the tragic loss of a once dear friend and the emotional turmoil that has accompanied it, to surviving a tornado in Nebraska, taking the best shower I ever took at Heathrow airport in London after a nine hour flight, moving into a beach front apartment in New Jersey with some best friends, and of course, launching the media empire I told all of you that I would launch, Infinity News Network – which came to life on May 1 at the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas.
