the dawn of Infinity

From an age of finite books with endings to a new era of the infinite internet with only beginnings, we’re living in a time unlike any other.  Since the dawn of the printing press there has never been a time in all of human history where people are as globally connected as they are today.  The greatest tool for free speech, expression and transparency the world has ever known only recently developed in our lifetime.  Despite global economic calamity, our generation is arguably facing an era much like the industrial revolution, except digital.

It’s the information and free expression insurgency that led to what inspired the idea of Infinity.  As journalism shifts in this new age of online media, people, companies and governments grapple with something that is in no way physically tangible but rather limitless and permanent: truly infinite.  Not only is this conversation incredibly fascinating, it’s what’s driving the future. glimpses and revelations

Has life ever been eerily prophetic and seemingly carefully orchestrated to you?  Have you ever been able to look back and see, like a puzzle, how certain things that happened led to something in the future, as if it were all meant to be?  Isn’t it fascinating that even bad things can work together for good and that what you cannot see now you might be able to see crystal clear in the future and then gasp in awe?

Thinking back to the end of my freshmen year of college, I remember wanting so badly to transfer out of the school I had chosen.  I hated the location of Kentucky and kept thinking about where I would rather be.  My heart was set on Washington DC.  I sent a transfer application to GWU and hoped for the best.  Though, it was as if all of a sudden, one day I just knew that I couldn’t leave Asbury, that I was meant to stay.  It was almost unexplained, but I just knew in my heart that to leave would be to take my life into my own hands instead of letting God guide.  However, Washington wasn’t off the table.  No, I absolutely knew that somehow, someway I would end up there, the only thing that was missing was the when and how. Infinity 5.

Jack Kelly awoke somewhere over northern Arizona as the 757 aircraft made its way into Pacific time zone.  Yawning with a stretch, he unbuckled his seat belt and scratched his head.  He thanked God that the two seats next to him were unoccupied, leaving plenty of room to stretch out and attempt comfort.  Jack exhausted about ten different positions until he shrugged a defeated sigh and slid open his iPhone.  He had missed more news!  And was unable to tweet!  The travesty of the situation pummeled him with a soft whimper while he scrolled through the very latest… Continue reading “Infinity 5.” »
