Josh Kinney, 29, is an Impractical daydreamer, journalist, publisher, editor, world nomad and tormented romantic seeking truth and perpetual adventure.
Originally from Philadelphia, Josh lives in Asbury Park, NJ, and ironically attended college at Asbury University in Kentucky. In 2011, he went on to The Washington Journalism Center in Washington, D.C., worked on Capitol Hill as a reporter, started an alternative news website which received international attention, and launched a popular print and online magazine in the city of Philadelphia. Today he is the Editorial Manager for the Greater New Jersey Annual Conference of United Methodists, which houses several nonprofits. He oversees the organization’s monthly newspaper The Relay, and the weekly e-newsletter, The Digest.
His work has been featured in The Philadelphia Evening Post, The Ocean City Sun, Atlantic City Weekly, Philly Weekly, The Daily Caller, The Press of Atlantic City, The Philadelphia Inquirer, iloveOCNJ.com, The Seven Mile Times, The Sea Isle Times, The Wildwood Sun, Friends Journal, The Washington Times, Red Alert Politics, Yahoo News, Infinity News Network, The Asbury Insider, Buzzfeed, The Daily What, The Relay, UMCOM, The Interpreter Magazine and Thought Catalog.
His travel adventures have taken him to nearly every U.S. state, several countries in Europe, and many trips to Africa.
Described by some as a cross between Jerry Seinfeld and Ted Mosby with the mind of Stephen King and Tim Burton sprinkled with a tidbit of Nicholas Sparks, Josh is perpetually working on several unfinished novels that have J.K. Rowling-esque potential.
